APPEARANCE:
Deep garnet colour with brownish hues.
NOSE:
Very powerful aromas of dried herbs and tomato leaves, highlighted by dried plum and a pleasant smokiness. Some liquorice and venison hints on the second nose.
PALATE:
Surprisingly low acidity, mellow tannins and savoury dried plum and mulberry make this dry Sangiovese the best pairing with any Italian tomato dish. The final is long and peppery, with well-balanced alcohol and fruits.
FOOD PAIRING:
Any tomato dish, particularly polpette al sugo and pasta Bolognese, but also Reina pizza
